When coming to a stop the transmission acts like it downshifting at less than five miles an hour. This adds additional torque to the wheels and it disconcerting on ice. If I shift to neutral I do not get this feeling. Same thing happens with or with out OD. Not only do I feel like I am on the brakes too much for a zero load stop, but I do not like that extra pull to a stop feeling. My question is can I adjust this out of the transmission or do I need to look elswhere? There are no mods to this truck at all. This is pure stock 1999 CTD, auto, quad cab, long bed, 4x4. Thanks

I have the same truck, and the downshift point (speed) is normal. I do run with 420# of tubesand in winter for traction weight, and it helps a bunch. I also shift to neutral if the ice is real slick to alleviate the problem. No way to change the shift point that I know of. Try talking to Bill Kondolay at DTT.
