ive had my beefed up transmission in the truck for awhile now, and have never had any problems untill lately... when driving the truck and the transmission fluid gets over 130deg. (probe in the pan), the transmission will downshift out of 3rd on a wot run, and off the line act like it wont want to shift into 3rd. but if im slight off wot, say 2600-2700rpm, it shifts ok?? what could be causing this? is very annoying, and im sure its not good for the transmission either. ive recently changed the fluid about 3,000 miles ago. i was thinking about resetting everything by unhooking the batteries and see of that corrected the shift problem. other than that i can't be happier with my transmission. any suggestions?

Do you mean it unlocks the converter at WOT (2400+rpm)? If so, that is normal, it is the PCM protecting the TC from the full power of the engine. The fluid coupling handles the peak power better than lockup, or so Ive read... You could also have a dirty TPS, have you checked/cleaned it lately?

Sounds kinda normal... but if the problem is different from what I`m thinking, I dunno. .

no... this is wot, it hasnt locked od yet, if get on it, it will downshift, kinda violently, and unless i let off the throttle slightly it wont shift again. i have no problem holding od at all. the suncaost transfers all the power.
