I am looking for information on an intermitent surging issue I am having with my 2011 Ram 2500. I have the 6 speed auto transmission. What happens is that after start-up and putting the truck into gear, every once in a while the truck will rev and lurch suddenly and unexpectantly with little or no pressure applied to the fuel pedal. I stand on the brakes to try and stop this surge in momentum and in most cases the truck will stall out as if it had a manual transmission that got starved for fuel. The dealer says they have not heard of this before. They recommend a 2-3 minute warm up period before engaging the transmission. I do not remember reading that disclaimer before I bought the truck, and more important than that is that I am concerned about safety. Any feedback is appreciated.

Shark, I have a 2011 6. 7HO. If I do not let vehicle warm up for at least a minute before putting in drive, I get a surge also. I now let it warm up a minute or two and have not seen the surge. It did not seem to matter what the outside temperature was.

Shark, I too have had the same problem. It happened twice and freaked me out both times. I follow the same procedure as Sikos and have not had a problem since. .
