I've had my '03 for 3-1/2 years. It has NEVER gotten better than 15.3 MPG on the lie-o-meter in the console. Two weeks ago I changed the transmission fluid & filter, and adjusted the bands per the FSM. I also drained & filled the diff's. With about 300 miles since the service the lie-o-meter is reading 18.4!
I'll do a manual calculation the next time I fill up but I'm wondering if a transmission service can have that kind of impact on the MPG? I've never experienced this in any other vehicle I've owned. I will say the transmission seems to be much more responsive and smooth... maybe that's why?
