I have 3 buddies that are swearing by adding transmission fluid to their fuel. They have 03s & 05s. And are claiming to be getting 1. 5mpg better. Out of sport I added 30 gallons of Texas Tea to my tank and a quart of transmission fluid. Time will what it may do to my DPF. :-laf

ATF has some things in it that could cause undue wear and scoring in electronic injectors. Its very OLD school when mechanical injectors used in big rigs. Not really good for them either but It may break up carbon and have some cleaning affect. The point is there MANY products out there that are designed to be used in Common Rail engines that don't harm and ATF is not one of them.

I had done a little looking on the net about the subject. I had not planned to make it a habit in running the stuff. I did see where it contained sulfur and raising the sulfur content of the fuel could not be real good.

It also has zinc and some stuff for grabbing such as for clutches in lockup torque converters and trans clutch packs . I read a whole big thread about ATF a long time ago and was surprised at what all was in it and reasons why you didn't want it going through very small injector bodys/nozzels/pump etc. Tons of the proper stuff on the shelves to poor in the fuel. You don't want it in the crankcase either. Modern oils have more cleaning solvents then ATF and ATF does not handle the internal combustion process very well.
