transmission Fluid Question

I'm changing my transmission fluid (while installing a Mag-Hytec Double Deep Pan) next week.



The owner's manual calls for ATF+3 or ATF+3 Type 7176.



Is there any difference between these and Dexron III ?

Valvolie ATF +3 - recommended for Chrysler on the bottle

You didn't say what year your truck is. If you have a 2001, you need ATF +4 even though the manual says +3. The only place I know of to get it is from Chrysler. If your truck is 2000 or earlier, ATF +3 is ok. DO NOT use Dexron III!

Sorry guys, I have a 2000. I guess there must definitely be a difference between the ATF+3 and the Dexron III then. You've saved my transmission-thanks.
