May sound strange but for as long as I have owned my 03 HO Auto it has given me a little drone when first shifting into overdrive at 49-50mph. I always thought this was normal... . until... ... I just did a transmission flush, filter change at the dealer at approx 30K miles. Now when it hits OD it seems smoother. Is this possible or just my imagination.

I am taking mine to the dealer Monday and they are going to change the ATF in mine. I have that drone on mine to when it shifts at 49-50mph. I am just going to let them do it cause they got the machine to get it out of the torque converter. I am going to have them put Amsoil ATF in mine. I will just have to pay for the labor charge. I just don't want to take the time to do it myself. I guess the older I get the lazier I am getting. :-laf I thought the drone might be coming from the exhaust but after I put the Banks exhaust on it still had it so that elimanted that.

I had the dealer flush and replace the filter on mine at 25,000. I have noticed the same drone at 65-75 MPH but there is now a difference as to when the OD kicks in for some reason it takes longer especially when cold in the AM

I am nearing the 30k mark and was going to get the service done as well but I wanted to put a different transmission pan on--------one with a temp port------so if they drop the pan they will be able to change filter and fluid in pan but not torque converter or can they hook up and flush the rest of the system

Jim

They can still hook up and flush the converter. The pan I bought has a port for a temp. sender in it too. As of now I have the temp. probe in the rear port facing to the back.
