Is there a way to reach DC Engineers?

Anyone experience their transmission going out without any warning signs. Driving without a load at 60 MPH on cruise and suddenly lose all forward gears. Reverse still worked, so it was a U-turn and drive backwards two mile to the barn. The first time was understandable,. . blown cooling line led to burnt transmission. Guessing the front pack is the problem area this time. Have been monitoring the TDR site for the last year and it seems this old 94 3500 has experienced every problem listed. Can't get things fixed long enough to sell it or trade it in. Feels good to vent though.

Same thing happened to me. Overdrive failure. 94-95s had a problem with not enough lube going to the OD. A small part (retaining clip I think) would get hot enough to fail and allot the sun/planetary gear assembly to "crash". I replased mine with a new one from Dodge in '98 that had all current updated (improved lube, deep pan, extra oil line on valvebody). A good transmission shop could have saved me $1000 and the trans would work the same as the new one did.
My advise: Have a good trans shop do the rebuild and by a torque plate (for the fuel pump) and a torque converter (low stall from Dave Goerend) with what you will save over a dealer.

What brand and type of Trans fluid did you use? I'm taking a survey of all transmission fluid and gear oil used in Dodge Trucks. And the benefit or loss, as a result.
Thanks #ad
