Guys,

I use my 2006 Ram CTD 48RE 3500 Mega for around town and towing my 11,000 lb trailer. I had very mild shift hunting with NO TSB applied (no concerns). My only complaint was that the trans shifted too early so what I did after reading a few post was bought and installed the DTT Trans Enhanser. after installing it I was impressed however after using it a while (100 miles) the transmision began shifting really late and allowing the engine to red line, this happened in all modes and real bad in towing and performance. Next, this was my first weekend towing my trailer and OMG, the shifting pattern is really screwed up. The trans in the tow mode shifts back and forth, back and forth big time and in daily mode its a little better but not much. It so bad, it has me concerned!! I know, call Stephan Monday problem is I still have some towing to do and would like some feedback before hand. Is there something maybe I can do to remedy this issue now?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Aside from the DTT TE and the PacBrake, truck is stock!

I do not know where you are located since it is not filled out but you need to call DTT and ask them to tell you where there is a dealer to re-program your SE. Not all trucks are the same and they tend to react differently from truck to truck with the default settings.

Why can't the end user change the settings? Can you not connect a PC like the BD TowLoc and simply make your changes?

No sorry Matt. As far as I know the programmer for the SE is only available to dealers. There are other companies that use the DTT SE and should have the programmer. I do not know specifics on why the end user is not allowed to program the SE but I can tell you for sure that once the unit is programed, you never really have to go back into it again.

Old tread to see again... lol

ATS has an electromechanical valve body that, instead of using hydraulic pressure and springs to determine the shift point, it uses an electrical selenoid. You can alter any shift point and any lock up point, from upshifts to downsifts and anything in between by hooking up your laptop and clicking. Anything! But, the valve body and interface for a laptop is very pricey, may be worth it to just get an Allison equiped vehicle . . . , the number one thing I hate about my Dodge is the simple 4 speed auto trans! What about a low 1st for take off, or maybe a reverse that isnt so tall you have to give it half throttle to move a load. Well at least Dodge now has a 6 speed, too bad GM put it in 7 years ago.

Controllers are not available as they are technical tools. If not used correctly can cause harm and changing the parameters are not always the answer. Based on what you are describing you may have a faulty governor pressure sensor and or governor solenoid. Remenber, the enhanser cannot change the behaviour of the truck if your solenoids are not working properly. Give us a call if you need a hand .
