I picked up my new (rebuilt) transmission from Standard Transmission over the weekend. Now it's time to intstall. One simple question: What's the best type of grease to lube the input shaft with? Must it be high temperature? What about the sleeve on the shaft? Splines?

I know these are simple routine questions for you guys that do this all the time, but I've dropped a chunk-o-change on this transmission, and I don't want to burn something up because I was to lazy to buy the right kind of grease.

Suggestions from you pros?

Use a VERY SMALL amount of white lithium where the clutch plate will ride on the input shaft, and maybe a little in the pilot bearing.

If you use to much the centrifugal force will fling grease all over the clutch plate.
