I have 2 diesel ram 2500's. a 98. 5 and a 95. 24 valve and 12 valve. Last year while on the way to the hunt club at about 60 mph, the transmission jumped out of overdrive and back in for just a split second. got my attention! took it to a transmission shop, hooked it up to a computer and no codes. let the tech keep the truck and drive it. he could feel it from time to time, but still no codes on the computer. transmission started leaking at the seal. 1500 dollars later after having the transmission rebuilt (which has only been a month and a half) and it's jumping out again.

My 95 12 valve does the same thing. you can go for months and nothing, then out of the blue, the jumping out of overdrive starts and may last that day a day or two then nothing for a while. I know that I cannot be the only diesel dodge owner that this has or is happening to. Could someone, somewhere in the network please direct me as to what may be causing this.

Sincerely,

Needy John

Do a search and you will find more material than you can read in one day. If you haven't separated the alternator wire from the others in the wiring loom that is a good place to start.

Godspeed,
Trent
