The "Overdrive OFF" light?

PCM forces a 3 to 4 downshift at 260 deg, and turns on the "Overdrive Off" light.

Then when it gets back down to 230 deg it allows up shift.

Unless you are talking about a different light?

It is ONLY available on vehicles with automatic transmissions.

It comes on with a single chime at 275° F (135° C). See 2004 Service Manual, p. 8J-40.

When that light comes on the transducer read the trans fluid temp in excess of 260 degrees. The transducers are notorious for reading low so it could have been higher. Suffice to say when the lights come son the trans fluid is HOT.
