My transmission lines were leaking so I decided to just replace all 3. I purchased steel braided nylon plus 8AN fittings which worked fine on the heat exchanger and transmission case connections. Now the problem... When I get to the cooler I cannot figure out a connection that works going from steel braided nylon to the steel lines on the cooler. The steel braided nylon isn't a "true" 1/2" line. My truck has been down over 1.5 weeks since I started this and I'd like to get it going asap. Anyone have any bright ideas? I've not come across any detailed video, etc to see what anyone else has done at this area of connection. HELP...

This compression fitting ALMOST worked. Problem was nylon lines not being a true 1/2" the ferrules would not go over the nylon line.....

How about a Barb to AN adapter?

Not sure what the ID on your hose is, but look that up and see if it works.

They have male and female AN to barb.

You could get a male AN fitting brazed or soldered (solder may not work, it melts at 370*) on the cooler tubes.

Get you a couple of 8-AN plugs or something, drill it out to 1/2”, slide it on the tube, and braze it. Then you could use your extra AN hose ends.

Maybe even epoxy would work. Maybe someone that knows more than me can step in and help choose between brazing, soldering, or epoxy.

Get a couple of these, I’d prefer brass, easier to work with.

Drill this hole out all the way through. If that hole size is 1/2” then it should slide on the aluminum tubes coming out of the cooler. If not, turn it around and drill about 1/2 way through from the other end to 1/2”. Slide it onto the cooler tube and braze it in place.
