Anyone using DTT or ATS lockup controllers for daily driving or only for use w/ a Jake brake. What do I gain by having the ability to over-ride the ECM's lockup thresholds? I understand the advantage when using a Jake with the 48RE... but for the other 98% of my driving what's to be gained?
 
My trans controlers are on all the time. Even without a ebrake my brake shoe life is about twice. It help slow down alot.
 
I have a Smart Controller (Dtt) and the user selectability is what I have it for along with my BD brake. You can set when O. D come in (From I think 30 MPH up until never) how long seccond gear will go down to until it downshifts (I have mine down until 18 MpH). The ability to Hold seccond gear locked up without a shift to third (Useful when in traffic) Set when the converter unlocks @ a certain Pedal position in any gear. It also saves your TC clutch linings from unessescary lock/unlocking. Iforget what else but that is a good list .
