transmission noise

I finally got pull the gooseneck last weekend with the EZ installed. The power was grand and I didn't hafta' shift on most hills were I had to before. I did notice though on the way home that there was a lot of noise coming from the transmission (i think), especially when it was pulling hard. Granted, I was pretty heavy with the 2 tractors and weights, it still bothered me. Anyone else notice a bunch of transmission groan when pulling a heavy trailer?. . hope the old box wasn't too much for the 5- speed. When i dropped the trailer, the noise stopped.
