Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission Oil Leak

I've got an oil leak that is coming from where the transmission bolts to the transfer case. This started about the same time I had the oil pan gasket changed because of a leak, covered under warranty, I know from reading posts that the engine needs to be raised to get the oil pan off. Would that have caused the leak? Also what is involved with fixing this leak?
