transmission oil

What is the best oil to run in the aisin transmision?

I personally think that I would use factory oil for at least the first 100K miles...

There have been 2 - 3 threads on changing this oil and it seems to be in agreement that the first service can be as far away as 60K miles... my 08 5500 with this transmission had 33K miles and I'm guessing by the end of this week that number will be closer to 35K miles... .

We've added extra fuel filters but nothing else to this truck... another member had put a temp gauge on his transmission and found it ran rather cool compared to the 48re... . so we've not added either an extra cooler or temperature gauge...

I'm guessing that when we pull it down for the first change at 60K miles I'll add a large extra filter that will add a quart to the oil capacity...

thanks for the info,i am in Australia,and am just looking for the oil grade and type to use, as Dodge cannot supply the oil in Australia

I didn't know... . it says New York.....

The bottle says it's also used in some jeeps. Don't know if that'll help ya any tho.
