Archived Transmission Out -- ECM Problem?

I need the location of a shop that can run a complete electronics diagnostic on my 1999 Ram 3500 Diesel.

I bought a HillKiller transmission from a Cottman dealer, thinking it was a Cottman product. I am battling warranty issues. There may be a claim the ECM was the "root cause" and my warranty would be declared not to apply. I will want the ECM tested independently. My truck has only gears 2 & 3 (automatic) at this time.



I am in San Marcos TX, between Austin and San Antonio.

Suggestions concerning a reliable shop in the area would be greatly appreciated.

San Antonio and Austin are both feasible.



I would use my books as a resource but they are a long way away in the truck in San Antonio.



I also want to know if it is possible to install the new Dodge Diesel Automatic Transmission in a 1999. I am tired of replacing a transmission every two years when I only tow 9000 pounds at 55 MPH and do not "hot rod".
