Mark at DieselPerformanceParts.com has some nice pans. I got one (PML) and really like it. It isn't as fancy with powdercoat like some others, but the coating just retains heat.

I've heard that,...

I have the Mag Tech and I've heard that about the paint and retaining heat the only thing is the gauge doesn't show it so it sounds like c... p to me! I've dropped 15* to 30* depending on load and speed with my Mag Tech DD and I'm not anywhere close to HOT with up to an almost 20k load so I just can't buy that paint argument. Good luck however with your PML.

I doubt I need luck, the pan is great quality. Besides, it was cheaper and I don't have a good enough back to bend over and admire it constantly, so no paint is good for me. However, I never implied that the known insulating properties of the powdercoat would actually cause a problem. Maybe you would have dropped 40 degrees with no coating? Maybe not. Trust me, though, it wasn't a personal slam against anyone with a MagTech. Seems like product threads always end up this way lately.
