All gears are like neutral! It acts like it wants to go, then just makes a faint grinding noise. Does the same in all gears including reverse. I have a gearvendor o/d installed, but the noise comes from directly under the gearshift. Could this be an excuse to finally get the south bend clutch I wanted or is it more?

You didn't say what you were doing when it "quit going"?

That sounds exactly like an experience I had rowing through the gears pulling a moderate load. Traffic slowed so let off the throttle and felt slight bump and all gears were neutral. Clutch and transmission were fine turned out to be a snapped T-case shaft. Turned a 6 hour drive into 20 hours not to mention an expensive t-case fix.

I wish you luck!

Is your truck a 4x4 or a 2x4? I have had a similar experience with my cummins converted suburban. Twice I have failed (stripped) the output splines of the transmission and the input shaft of my transfer case. In my case they were 1 3/8 32 spline shafts(gm). I now have the 1 1/2 29 spline dodge shaft. I think you could have stripped the female splines on your gear vender. If your truck is a 4x4 you could try engaging 4wd and see if it will move. When mine went out, I was stuck, no forward or reverse, just slight grinding.

Yeah I didn't think of that, If it was in the gearvendor, it would still go in 4 wheel drive... which it doesn't because I did try that. Thanks
