My truck is a 1996 diesel with a auto trans and Most of the time if I don’t warm up my truck, (and some times if I do warm it up) by the first stop it will lock up in 4th, then when I turn it off it will be ok for maybe all day. If I turn off the overdrive it will shift up and down from 1st to 3rd unless it does it thing then it is locked in 4th, but will go into converter, and if I put the shift handle in a lower gear it will not do a thing until I turn off the key again. When it locks in 4th and if I set the cruise control it will work ok, but if the trans is ok, then it takes 5 or more times to get the cruise control set, it just keeps going up and up, my phone number is 206-261-1983 and e-mail is -- email address removed --.
