I have a 94 cummins, and since I bought it when the truck is in overdrive and I slow down to 45 mph the truck will start to buck. when I take it out of overdrive its fine. I was told to replace the SBEC, and so I did at the cost of about $200. Well to my dismay it still does it, maybe not as bad but its still annoying. So besides not driving at 45 mph any thoughts on my problem?

jburelle, welcome to the TDR

B4 you throw more $$$$ at the problem ,I would suggest a quick call to Bill Kondolay toll free 1 866 504 4002

Bill will give great advice because he is the auto transmission guru

Overdrive @ 45mph

I am not the auto guru, but I am going to give you the answer you did not want. Don't do it.

IMHO 45 mph is too slow:( to be in O. D.

The PCM controls OD and Lockup using inputs from the temp sensor, TPS, Speed sensor. Are all those working correctly?

jburelle,

On your '94 if the speedo is working ok then your speed sensor is too.

The TPS is another story. It's the black box attached to the side of the trottle linkage where the cables are connected. Before spending any money you can try to clean it. It's sealed so this may not work. Get a spray can of contact cleaner. Remove the connector. Clean it and the connection on the TPS. Now spray the shaft of the TPS and work the trottle linkage back and forth. Repeat a few times.
