last week i had a problem with the transmission not downshifting when i stopped at a light. i had to manually put in first to take off. these symptoms started getting worse as i was pulling my utility trailer with about 6000 lbs. it got worse as the day went on. empty or loaded. took it to jeff's and he replaced the govenor pressure switch. that seemed to do the trick.

today when i backed out of the driveway,i put it in drive and it seemed to be going nowhere. almost like the brakes were stuck. i could feel it shaking as it tried to go forward. the rpm's had to go up pretty high to take off. it did the same thing, though not as severe at the next few stop signs.

this afternoon i pulled the rear drums off. there is just a little bit less than half left on the shoes. no broken springs and nothing out of place. a good bit of dust though.

any ideas?

thanks all,

mike

transmission Problems

I had similar problems on a 97 Chevy, gas truck. Turned out to be an $85 solenoid on the transmission. Might be totally different(Driving apples and Oranges)but maybe not?

Good LUCK!! i HOPE IT IS CHEAP OR FREE.
