Trying to help out a friend, truck is 05 3500 4x4. Shifts very late 1>2 and 2>3, lockup does not engage.

Throws codes 1751 and 1754, which I haven't found in any list, execpt that they should be transmission codes.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Powertrain code (P) P1751-TRANSMISSION THROTTLE VALVE

POSITION MINIMUM RANGE

PERFORMANCE .

P1754-TRANSMISSION THROTTLE VALVE

ACTUATOR STUCK

Thanks MoparDave.

Does this necessarily mean that there is something wrong with the throttle valve, or could there be an electrical issue (sensor/plug/cable etc) or some other thing causing these codes and sympthoms?

Thanks

The throttle valve actuators have a habit of going bad. While elctrical could be the issues, its more likely a bad part.

Same thing happened to my 05', had to replace valve and actuator

Where are these located? To replace the valve and actuator is it a drop transmission pan or pull transmission? I to had a code P1751 Just wondering if I need to replace or ? thanks

The TTVA motor is on the outside of the trans, you need to replace it per the code. It sits on top of the shift linkage and hooks to the same spot the TV cable used to.

Cerberusiam, I cleared the code and turned the key to on for aleast 30 sec and then started and have been driving around for a couple days and no return code? ?Maybe I don't need to replace the TTVA motor? I'll keep driving it and see how things go. Thanks Dave
