I am having some transmission issues. My truck started not wanting to shift to

2nd gear until I back off of the throttle then everything works fine. I have 90K miles and this sucks that something is going wrong. Could it just be that the bands need adjusting?? I do not get any check engine lights.

Before I bring it to the shop I want to see if there are any codes I can check and possibly reset the computer. I forgot how to bring the codes up would some refresh my old butt how to do this. . Thank you, Fred

It could be the transmission pressure solenoid and transducer.

Adjusting the front band might help (especially if it's never been done) as well as checking the TV cable.

It's the Throtle Valve cable, it runs from the bell crank assembly at the front left of the engine and goes down to the transmission manual gear selector on the left side of the trans. It controls shift timing and line pressure, too tight will cause late shifting and sensitive down shiftng, too loose will cause early upshifting and late down shifting.
