I have a 2001 dodge cummins with an auto. The problem i am having is it will not shift down out of third into second or first when i come to a stop. When i first shift it into drive it will start out in first and shift threw the gears but after that it wont shift down out of third. I can manually shift it into second or first and it shifts down. I have not shifted it back up to see if it goes right back into third but i just take off shifting manually and seems ok. Altho some of the time as soon as i put it from second to drive it shifts right away other times waits and shifts normally. It acted up like this about 8 months or more ago and was that way for idk three months or so then started shifting down like it was supposed to but now has started acting up again. I don't really want to just start throwing parts at it till i find what it is. Just wonderin what i should check or how to check to see what it is. The last time it acted up we hooked a scanner to it and all the pressures seemed ok and everything. The last time tho i think it just wouldn't shift down out of second but now its third it wont shift down out of. What do you guys thik it is valve body, governor pressure sensor/transducer, shift soloenoid, pcm. I checked for codes and only found a oil pressure ckt switch pressure too high. was an 0522 code. 8 months ago there were no codes either. Seems that the 2 to 3 shift usually is a little slower than should be when it does operate proplerly if that helps any. Sorry for being long winded just tryin to give an accurate description. Thanks for all the help in advance Dave
