Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission problems

I'm having some weird transmission problems. Even after the truck is warmed up, it occasionally won't go into second. Oddly enough, it seems to happen the most when I'm turning sharp corners, as in off one street onto another. If I rev the truck, it'll jump in. Sometimes it'll wanna downshift out of overdrive, then jump back in. Changed the fluid 8 months ago and still looks, smells good.



Any help for this novice would be appreciated.

What happens when you limit it to second gear via the selector?

The overdrive thing may be the TPS or some other problem like I am dealing with today (see my post in this forum).

Your symptoms sound like a classic underfill.

When you check the fluid, you -are- doing it in neutral? Also compare both sides of the stick, and go with the lower reading.

At the worst, try adding another 1/2 quart and see if that changes anything.
