I have a 99 2500 4X4 Automatic. After setting for 2 days, the trany would not go in gear for 1 to 2 minutes. Then after engaging, I could drive around with no other problems with no load. Under loaded condition of 5 to 13 thousand pounds of weight, I had problems down shifting and pulling weight. Local shop orders a new pump and noticed the torque converter was burnt. So they installed new TC and pump. I noticed my rpm was much higher and still had shifting problems. They said it was the TC again so they changed it again. Still had problem! They changed the TC again!!!! Then changed the solenoid twice!! Same problem. Now they say it is the Valve Body. I think enough is enough and just replace the mechanic and transmission. Any body else have this problem?
