Hello all,

just joined and hope you can help. I have a 1997 3/4 ton that outpulls and gets better mileage than my 2001 dually. The 2001 transmission starts in second at times and at other times downshifts as soon as the throttle is slightly let off. All problems seem to start after truck has warmed up. Sometimes the truck will not shift out of first gear unless I nearly floor the throttle, and I can feel a slight catch in the throttle. I have replaced the transducer and governor switch with no change in performance. When starting in second, I can manually shift into first but at times must give it a little throttle for it to shift to first. Dealer said there was a high voltage problem with the governor. I also have a problem with temporarily losing power when pulling a camper. The temp gauge will rise slightly above 190 deg and the I can hear the fan kick on. I have decreased power until the temp decreases to just below 190 deg. and then power resumes. Wish I could get a four door with my old 12 valve. Thanks in advance for any help.

Robert

I put a puck on to help with the power and it did help, but dealer wouldn't touch it until I removed it on their lot.
