2nd Gen DRW to SRW Conversion

95 12v to 02 24v

I have a 74 power wagon that I'm putting a 4bt into. It has the granny 4spd and a seperate transfercase. I want to put a NV 4500 with it. Can I use a 2wd with that trans case or should I kust find a NV 4500 and mated trans case?

I don't see anything wrong with keeping the divorced Tcase. You probably will have to move it back a foot or some, the NV4500 2WD is long, much longer than the NP435. It's your money and time.

Would I be able to use a different 2wd transmission? Would a ZF 5spd from a ford be shorter? And does the ZF have internal or external slave cylinder? Just looking for my best option

Steve I also saw on the pics of you Scout with the 4bt that you made your own slave cylinder mount. How hard was that and whats should I plan to do if have to do that.

Sorry I know nothing about ZF's.

When I did the hydraulic's for the clutch, I was not aware of any after market parts for building up the unit. Now adays you can buy them seperately, you donot have to buy them as a unit from Dodge for $300. There is also a replacement fitting for the slave so you can use a flared fitting and nut on it.
I would vote for using the factory master and slave, why reinvent the wheel.
