Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission question

Well in July I went to Iowa and got a Georand transmission. I think it is awesome. What a difference. However I was looking at the transmission fluid and it looks like it has that charcoal/graphite like material in it. It does not look clean. My last transmission was bad that way of course stock. I wonder if there was still gunk left in the transmission lines that contaminated the new fluid. So I am alittle nervous. The truck is a daily driver and I hardly tow anything. I know you'll tell me to just give Dave a call but any input would be nice.

Did you do the 1000 mile service? Most shops demand it gets fluid/filter change about then.

But, if it looks bad to you ( color isn't a good determinate anymore), just change it. His converters probably have a drain plug so you can get 99% of it out.
