My 96 two wheel drive auto has developed a little problem that I am not sure is a big enough probem to worry about.

The transmission shifts beautifully as you increase the power and locks up at about 50. No mileage reductions or loss of power. When I take my foot off of the peddle and start to come to a stop or just slow down, I feel a definate hard shift as the transmission shifts down. Appears to be in all gears not just an unlock.

I have a double deep pan on the auto and the transmission has never been over 180 degrees. The truck just broke 80K miles. The engine has a number 8 plate in it and the cat is gone. I pull a 5000 pound trailer occasionally but it mostly just hauls my fanny around. Other than that it is stock and has no other problems.

Any Ideas?

Give Fred Swanson a call. He is there in Phoenix. Sorry, don't have his number handy. Do a search here and I'm sure you'll find it. HTH
