Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission replace

I have a 96 auto and the trans is getting kinda tired, I have a 99 stock trans

and would like to know if any problems would be encountered such as electrical hookup's etc. I believe both are 47re's. stormy

Stormy, I know nothing about automatics so I can't help you there. Just wanted to comment that you need to retire that truck for awhile so I can catch up I think I may turn over 700k this month, but if not then early next month.

I thought the 12V's had 47rh?

94 and 95 had 47rh, all newer than 96 had 47re and 48re's

I have an extra 12 valve rebuilt waiting for this one to crap out, I will be 78 next july and I might crap out before my truck.

My plan is to convert the 1 ton to a 2500, I have a parts truck to do so.

the reason has to do with licences and inspections that are scheduled in the future. I don't pull r v's anymore so I will be better off with a 3. 5 ratio than the 4. 10. the biggist problem with he 12 valve is oil leaks, I have replaced all the gaskets once and I think it's that time again. it leaks more than the motor burns. stormy

Been there and back, 10,200 miles later. Had a blast. Wish I'd taken more money and fishing tackle. Also, 7 weeks flew by.

Check the front crank seal, that's been the only real leak I've had on mine.
