transmission resistor

Some time ago, I received information from a member re: the resistor you use to "fool" the factory temp sensor when you use a gauge sender in its place. It was either 7. 5 K ohm or 750 Kohm, available at radio shack. I bought a package of 5, used one and lost the other four. Can someone tell me the correct value of this r esistor? thanks.

It's a 7. 5 K ohm. I have mine set up that way and it works fine.
