Truck makes a squealing sound (under the vehicle about the center) that speeds up while going faster. First I thought it was the brake wear indicator but its not.

Tested it by putting the truck in neutral and coasting sound goes away, apply brakes no sound put it back in gear sound comes back. Now here's the clincher put it in reverse no sound; so whats up?

Don't think its U-joints as the truck does not clunk or is jerky. transmission shifts perfectly and doesn't hesitate, hunt or behave abnormally.

56K miles

Any ideas out there?

I think that if it's the transfer case seals you're gonna have a fluid leak. Is there any sign of a circular pattern of fluid being thrown off by the shaft? That's what happened to my 04. 5 when the rear output shaft seals went on the transfer case. What a mess.

Worth checking??

Not sure if the 2010 has the needle holes that are supposed to be greased with each oil change. Mine started making a noise in the front case area at 18K and once these were greased "correctly" it stopped. I have since changed dealers!!

From the Manual:

Front Driveshaft Lubrication – 2500/3500 (Four-Wheel Drive) Models (Ram Trucks Only)

Lubricate the front driveshaft grease fitting at each oil change. Refer to “Maintenance Schedule” for further information. Use MOPAR® Type MS-6560 (lithium-based grease), or equivalent.

rear U-Joints are the culprits. Dealership is good about greasing the front "hidden" needle insert. I have them do every other oil change as it is a PIA.

Thanks for the information very beneficial.
