I had my 2008 3500 transmission serviced, filters and pan fluid only, and I have to increase rpm to move, truck wants to accelerate when applying brake. It is like low fluid pressure, especially when cold. I took to another shop and they redid the service and the symptoms are now constant, cold or warm. The truck runs great when beyond slow speeds.
I woul double check the filter seal first. I have seen guys install the seal on the filter when it should be installed in the trans first then slide the filter into the already installed seal
Most of the Chrysler transmissions of late, especially RFE will lock the converter when the pump sucks air. Like Bob said, check the filter O-Ring, especially if it was not broken before the service.
Bob4X$ and sag2 are talking about the little spin on filter that is to the RH front of the transmission. Both of these filters are in the pan so the pan must be removed. When I replaced my spin on filter and seal I used a socket to seat the seal first than installed the spin-on filter.

Also just an FYI. If you overtighten the spin on filter you can crack the plastic threaded bushing and it will suck air. Best thing to do is Call ATS diesel and order a billet aluminum bushing and get rid of the plastic one. if it brakes in half and ends up in the pan, you will be buying a new trans.
