I recently had DTT re-work my transmission and replace TC. I am approuching the recommended 1000 mile service. I am wondering what some of you have found to work the best for collecting the fluid and avoiding the mess. I'm also considering changing over to Amsoil, but the problem I have is that the manual states that from 17. 5 to 33 pints can be used. I want to do this right, so would appreciate any recommendations on this subject such as how much fluid will it take and any tips on draining TC and transmission Lines. Thanks in advance. :) :) ;)

I made an el cheapo drain pan that works really good. A five gallon plastic bucket with a lid plus a garbage can lid. I fastened the lids together with some dry wall screws and cut a large hole in the center. A garbage can lid is big enuff to catch all the drips. A DTT TC has a drain plug that makes draining it easy so you will get more out than from a stock trans. I use air to force the lines and coolers to drain. You can get more out if you loosen the VB. However, if you do that you MUST have an in/lb torque wrench and torque it back up properly in the correct sequence. The amount of oil you get out of the transmission can vary so what I do is measure how much I drained and put that much back in. Otherwise getting the correct replacement amount in can be a PITA.
