My truck just started doing this. When i start the truck for the first time in the morning, or if i turn it off for 10-15 minutes, after starting it, and driving off 1st gear is winding out farther, like up to 2000 rpm. Once the truck is warm it is ok. Every once in awhile second gear will do it, but i think that has only happened one or two times. Any ideas?????

The quickest and most likely- three things one you probably did already and that is fluid level, the other is an internal leak that allows the TC to drain back in the morning. Also if it is cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey the transmission will delay shifts to warm its fluid up. I have only seen that around +10F or around there

Thanks Peter, but I know it is not the brass monkey effect. Here in Louisiana they do not know what cold is. How soon for the TC to fill back up once truck is started... . or does it have to be driven for it to fill up?
