Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission Shift

Dutch needs info: The automatic transmission on our 96 3500 dually will not shift into drive unless we lock up the converter and accelerate to 54 mph, normally 42mph. When slowing down it will fall out of drive at 51 or 52. It's ok otherwise. Fluid is clean and no smell. Any suggestions? Diana

Thanks for the quick reply. Dutch did do that this morning and took it out for a drive. So are it seems to be working. Oo. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Thanks again, Diana
