Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission shifting problem

First problem in 584,000 kms. When starting away will not shif out of first. While driving if I shift out of drive to netural and quickly back to drive it will shift normally. and may continue to work ok for several stop and stars. Checked fluid ,clear and up to proper level when hot and in netural.

Any iseas appreciated.

Output shaft speed sensor and\or gov solenoid and pressure sensor. Either one or all can cause 1st gear hang, starting out in drive, etc. The output shaft speed sensor is external, cheap, and easy to change. If that doesn't cure it then will be time to drop the pan and replace other parts.

Thanks Cerberusiam I will get a new sensor and try that ,easiest one first.
