Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Does anybody know of a good transmission shop in the Minneapolis area? I don't mind driving a couple of hours for good service. I have some questions on my transmission and would like a knowledgable person that knows how our turbo diesels drive. I recently put in an aftermarket valve body and it worked great, but I am now experiencing a little bit of shudder. I would like someone to evaluate my transmission and let me know if it would help to install a new T. C. (DTT of course!) I don't want to spend that kind of money if other things are wrong with my transmission.
Also, lately I have noticed some groaning noises coming from the rear when turning sharp, any ideas? I recently put Amsoil Series 2000 in my rear diff, but didn't add any friction modifier. There is also a clunking sound from the rear when hit the throttle from a stopped position and let off real quick???? How do you check if a u-joint is bad? Sorry for the long post, but I know this is the best place for answers.
