Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shops in San Diego?

A friend is on his way to Baja and just north of the border his transmission is having a lot of problems shifting. He can manually shift it but it won't shift unless he moves the shifter into each gear. It will not stay in overdrive. He says seems to stay in lock up in drive. He has a DTT noise filter which he has adjusted to 4. 65 volts and that didn't help. Any Ideas would be great. I'll get him on the phone and see if I can get any more info. He is a fellow TDR member user name S Aronson. Thanks for any help in advance.

He is going to try the ground fix found on Suncoast's web site. Any one know of a good transmission shop in or around San Diego? He is at Palm ave and 805.

Call NTG Racing@ 1-619-261-5922. Mike there is the transmission tech. They are located just east of San Diego. They should be open at 8:00 am Monday.

He took his governor solenoid apart and cleaned a screen in it and now it shifts fine. Time for a new one after this trip
