Once a month, I am on "duty" and drive a company truck and mine sets in the garage. After a week, I start it up and put in reverse and there is a delay of up to about 10 seconds or so. I will give some throttle and it will slip in to Reverse and start moving. I have no trouble with this until it sets for a week. Any concern? Reasons?

The truck has 99K on it. PO who bought new, changed fluid religiously, added a deep sump pan, trans temp gauge. Used Castrol +4 oil......the only thing non Amsoil in the truck

Thanks

It is called " morning sickness"!!!!
The converter drains into the pan overnight and when you start it up, it needs to refill. It does not do this in park, as set up stock.
It does not hurt anything but you can simply put it into neutral after it starts and all will be fine quickly.
It can be modified so it fills in park though.

It's normal. As posted above, the torque converter drains into the pan over time. My truck may be parked in my shop for weeks at a time and it does it. As soon as the engine starts, I shift to Neutral and give it a few moments for the converter to refill. It drives and shifts normally after the converter fills with fluid.

Sonnax sells a new manual valve for the valve body that gives cooler flow in park, or as was mentioned, put it in neutral for a few seconds and the converter will fill quickly.
