I ordered a transmssion from Goerend. I am working on removing my old transmission, but unlike every chevy transmission I've ever done I can't figure out how to remove the torque converter bolts. The FSM seems to leave a lot out.
The factory service manual says.
(7) remove torque converter access cover
(8) drail fluid, etc.
(9) remove fill tube, etc.
(10) mark tc and drive plate for alignment
(11) rotate crankshaft clockwise until converter bolts are accessible, then remove bolts one at a time.
What the heck?? removing the cover, all you see is the bottom of the torque converter, no way to see the bolts. Further up on the passenger side there was a 1" rubber grommet that I removed and can feel the outside of the ringgear but certainly can't find any tc bolts.
Did a search, not a clear answer.
What am I missing?
Might be better putting it back together and sending it to a shop.
Any input appreciated.
