transmission swap

Hey guys (and gals) first timer hear. I have had two cummins trucks an '02 and my present '05. the were both great trucks. the nv5600 trans is in both trucks. I am getting a little tired of shifting. I was considering an automatic transmission, but i don't want to go through the hassle of trading trucks. Has anyone heard of transmission swapping? can an automatic be put in a manuals spot? I would love some info on this. I have heard rumors that a six speed may be available, anyone else heard this?

Welcome tot he TDR. Yes it has been done but from what I've read, it's very expensive. Might be a wash money wise between getting a new truck vs swapping an auto for a manual. The '07 6. 7L has a 6 speed auto available in them.

I think Sun Coast is doing an Allison swap. It might cost about 10k to do though.
