transmission swap

I have a 96 2500 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I have a BD valve body,T/C, torqloc, and deep pan. I am happy with the combo but long uphills pulling in 2nd gear can heat it up to 300 degrees. I have switched vacuum lines on the 4wd unit to run in 4low. It works but is to time consuming. Has anyone out there installed a 5 speed

I am interested in this also. I saw in the latest issue or TDR that someone had this done by Jim Leonard. Time, money, and cost would all be good info.
