There is a kit for putting one in the pan. Theory is (I guess) that you'll want to know the temp that is going through the filter.

Check out your Geno's catalog for the kit.

Best place is in the same line as the factory temp switch as close as possible to the output fitting. Easiest is to cut the line where it crosses the front of the pan and put your fitting there.

Putting the sensor in the pan only tells you what the temp is after running thru the coolers, not what you are actually generating in the converter. There will be a fairly large drop between the 2 places and by the time the pan temp is into the danger zone you have more than likely wounded the trans.

See my readers rig album "gauges"

I installed a street T fitting in the line where the factory sensor is. This T allows the factory and the aftermarket (ISSPRO) sensors to be in the "hot" line comming from the transmission.

There is also a kit you can get that installs in line, but you'd have to CUT into the line and make a nice "rigging".

I also had one in the pan last year. I drilled a hole and welded in a pipe bushing. Now, it simply serves as my drain.
