I had DTT add a second transmission cooler as my truck always ran close to 200 when towing and up to over 240 when backing. DTT also found a check valve in the system which was restricting oil flow. Now my transmission really runs cool. The last time we were out, last month, the temperature approached 150 a couple of time but usually was around 140. When backing it got to 170 or so.

Is there a "too cool", or should I sit back and relax?

I notice on a cool day mine will heat to 150 in the "hot line". I have wondered if there was a minimum temperature regulating device in the valve body. Anyone know? DTT valve body.

If you are running 200 towing are you locking up when towing? Seems high.

I have an aux cooler on mine and can go over 200 backing (in sand, 13k 5er). At that point I just let it cool and get the temps back under control before resuming.
