I'm running a trans temp sensor in the return line(snow plow option?). What temperature should I be seeing? Currently, it runs around 150 after about 15 minutes, and up to 175/180 on the highway towing.

Thanks

jeff

Sounds about right. I run 140-150 with a DD pan and the sensor is on the return line. Towing 10K I see about 170 to 185 depending if I am running the mountians or not.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was right. Just seemed like it was getting warm without doing all that much work.

Thats pretty high for the return line. Return fluid should be around 130-140 for best results and that will be at hiway speeds, higher if the TC is unlocked.

I may have been smokin something! I've got the Diesel Manor cooler replacement line with the sending unit plug. I think this is the hot side and not the return side? Not sure what I was thinking.

Send me some, sounds like was the gooood stuff. :-laf

Yeah, thats the hot line and the temps are dead on from what I see.

Under 60 F its generally 160-165, over that its 5 degrees either side of 180.

In traffic in the summer is the only time it breaks 200. Anywhere from 210 to 220 is normal. Even in fluid coupling in temps under 60 F its a severe condition it breaks 190.

As long as it drops back to 160-180 in lockup its all good.
