I am hooking up a floor dimmer switch to force unlock my TC, hoping to gain a few more miles from my ailing transmission. I understand from reading here, that this will make my transmission run a little hotter. I have the sensor in the pan, cause there isnt anywhere else to put the darn thing:mad: I run maybe 115-125* max locked up towing and have hit 150* backing in my TT or idling for a while. What is the temp difference from the pan compared to the "hot line"? How much should I add to the temp to know how hot I really am?

Thanks in advance, I'm off to the shop:D

Your temps are fine. I'd start worrying after 200°, the pan is the coolest part of the system. You're in luck though, on the RH transmission you can install a temp probe in the middle port, passenger side that will give temps equal to the output to the cooler.

Thanks, B.

I just came in from finishing up. Very simple job and I am pleased after the test run. It is almost like gaining a half a gear. Around here, unless you are on the "super slab" most speed limits are 45-50 and that really made this truck a bear to drive. It was either lugging or screaming. This mod put me at about 1800 rpm at 55 or so. I may move my sender to that port. I was concerned about any internals contacting the end of the sender.

Now to wire a pilot indicator light to let me know when it is in normal mode. I assume since the switch is a ground, then all I need is power to the light and pull my ground off the floor dimmer switch?

I have an unlock switch on mine and it is great. Illflem is right on the money on the temps. If you like having the feel of almost an extra gear now, wait until you do upgrade to a tighter torque converter, it's sweeeeet
